Star Motorcycles previews their 2014 V Star Custom, a middleweight cruiser for those not in search for a big-bore beast. With exceptional maneuverability coming with its very moderate dimensions and weight, the 2014 V Star Custom can be a very good choice for a first bike, while still offering plenty of fun for more experienced riders, too.
The chromed and polished 40cui (649cc) engine is mated to a wide-ratio 5-speed gearbox which makes it great for city rides and highway fun, as well. With an estimated 49 mpg (4.8 l/100 km) and a generous fuel tank, the 2014 V Star Custom can do more than 200 miles (320 km) between fill-ups, making a great touring bike, too.
Evoking the classic looks, the 2014 V Star Custom comes with a lot of chrome accents, from the headlight housing to the engine, mirrors air filter cover and chunky 2-into-2 exhausts. With a low seat only 27.4" (69.9 cm), the 2014 V Star Custom is also a nifty choice for smaller riders and ladies, as well, as it comes with a more reassuring feeling.
With plenty of accessories and optional parts available and an announced price of only $6,990 (€5,335), the 2014 V Star Custom is expected in August 2013, and represents a very affordable way to enter the cruiser world.
