Often touted as the benchmark for the entry-level cruisers and being by far a machine favored by more experienced riders just as much as it appeals to the younger ones, the V Star 950 gets updates for the 2014 season.
With a longer wheelbase than one would normally expect from a bike in this class, the 2014 V Star 950 boasts an air-cooled 942cc 60-degree v-twin power unit. Despite the classic looks, the engine is loaded with all the newest technology, such as ceramic-coated cylinders, forged pistons, 4-valve heads and top-notch fuel injection.

A carefully-tuned 2-into-1 exhaust and three-stage catalyst provides a throaty sound, while keeping emissions low. The 5-speed gearbox delivers power to the rear wheel be means of a hassle-free, quiet belt.

The 2014 V Star 950 brings 41mm fork tubes for the double steel cradle frame, a 32omm front disc and a 298mm rear one, while the 26.6” (67.5cm) low seat makes sure even the smaller riders will be able to put a solid foot on the ground once stopped.

Weighing in at 613 lbs (277 kg), the 2014 V Star 950 should do 47 mpg (5 l/100 km), and will be available from August for $8,690 (€6,620).
