UK Ducatisti can rejoice, as the all-new 2014 Monster 1200 and 1200s are now available in the British dealerships.
Both the Ducati Monster 1200 and the Monster 1200S are powered by the dual-spark Testastretta 11° engine which can be found in the Multistrada and Diavel machines. The lump is a dual-spark, 1198cc v-twin which and can produce a maximum of 135 horsepower at 8750 rpm, with a max torque of 118 Nm (87 lb-ft) at 7250 rpm for the Monster 1200, while the higher-spec 1200S naked beast is good for 145HP and 124.5 Nm (91.8 lb-ft) at the same rpm values.
Borgo Panigale manufacturer equipped both new, big Monsters with multi-step Ducati Traction Control, ride by wire, multiple Riding Modes and Power Modes for a better, more customizable riding experience according to the rider’s skills, road type and conditions and loading.
The two Monsters are ready for anti-theft systems and installation of the Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA), for the riders who like to spend more time on the race track. Adjustable suspensions are to be found on both bikes, with the S version loaded with top-spec Öhlins parts for both front and rear, and a bigger Brembo brake system, borrowed from the 1199 Panigale.
In the UK, the 2014 Ducati Monster 1200 is available for prices starting at £10,695 ($17,875 or €12,810), while the Monster 1200S comes with a price tag reading at least £12,995 ($21,720 or €15,565), both with Ducati TriOptions financing solutions.
