German automaker Audi announced that the all-new 2014 A3 Sedan has gone into production at its factory in Gyor, Hungary. The 2014 A3 Sedan is the first vehicle to be completely assembled in Hungary, the company revealed today, adding that the plant will produce about 125,000 units a year.
Revealed back in March, the 2014 Audi A3 Sedan will become the manufacturer’s most affordable four-door vehicle. Built on the A3 Sportback’s platform, the sedan will arrive with a choice of three engines, the 1.4-liter TFSI, the 1.8-liter TFSI and the 2.0-liter TDI, but it should receive more units next year. Also, Audi is set to release an S3 version with more aggressive styling and 300 HP under the bonnet.
“With the expansion of our plant in Hungary, Audi Hungaria has developed into an important pillar of our worldwide production network,” stated Audi CEO Rupert Stadler. “We are thus consistently pursuing our growth strategy and strengthening our international competitiveness.”
The 2014 Audi A3 Sedan is scheduled to go on sale in Europe this fall.
