Some say the 2013 Tiger 1050 Sport is yet another subterfuge helping Triumph to get some more money from a certain segment of riders who fall for pretty much anything with "Sport" on it. The bike is clearly evolved from the old Tiger 1050, but has received a lot of trimming for the bodywork, while it also comes with technical changes, as well.
While the engine itself got no modifications, Triumph has endowed it with new intake and exhaust lines, thus managing to add some 10 hp and taking the Tiger 1050 Sport to 123 bhp, with a 7% better mileage claim thanks to the revised fuel injection.

Triumph has also done some re-working for the subframe, lowering both seats and offering the much needed space for the larger panniers (optional). Speaking of the storage, the stronger racks can now accommodate heavier loads (10 kg or 22 lbs) for touring purposes.

A new ABS system is in place for the all-new wheels, too. Prices are said to become public in February, when Triumph plans to launch the bike, with dealership availability estimated for March 2013.
