2013 Chevy Spark Commercial: Hurdy Gurdy

A hurdy gurdy is a musical instrument with strings that makes sound when you turn a crank. It makes sounds a bit like a violin and is controlled using a keyboard that presses small wedges against the strings.
It’s supposedly still used by folk music groups at festivals across Europe, particularly in France and Hungary.

No, we didn’t know any of this stuff before watching this very strange commercial for the Chevy Spark, the smallest car offered by the American automaker.

In this ad, a architect-type guy is watching old video footage on his MyLink display when this granny walks by and decides she needs to play some hurdy gurdy. A Hungarian announcement is then heard and there you go – instant commercial about the fact that the Spark plays video from USB.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
