BMW is looking to offer even more variants of the 3-Series than ever before, as the numerous sighting of a sort of 3er hatchback have confirmed that they are indeed working on a Gran Turismo or GT for short. This will offer better boot space than the sedan, but not at the price of a cool silhouette like the Touring does.
Most likely, the 3-Series Gran Turismo will come with the same powetrains as the regular 3er, but offering better boot space and a fresh design in the midsize segment. As this rendering shows, this will not be a copy of the 5-Series GT, as the lines flow much better.
According to BMW Blog, the car will be launched in March 2013. Originally, it was slated to arrive in 2011, according to BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, but if you’re looking to buy this car in the US, you likely shouldn’t be waiting at all.
