The Audi TT story officially ended last month when the last copy rolled off the assembly line. The four-ring brand has made 662,762 units of the sports model since 1998 across three generations and pulled the plug on it to focus on electric crossovers.
Audi celebrated its end of the line with various final edition models launched worldwide. The third and last generation of the car was built on the VW Group's versatile MQB platform and was related to the A3, Volkswagen Golf, and SEAT Leon. It was offered in multiple configurations, with the RS version topping the family and boasting 400 metric horses (394 hp/294 kW) from its 2.5L five-pot.

The pictured Audi TT is a 2013 model in the highest specification available. It's part of the second generation that was sketched by Walter de Silva, whose portfolio also includes the original Q7 and A5, with the latter reportedly being his favorite creation. Beneath the skin lies the old platform of the VW Golf Mk5 and the era's A3, SEAT Leon, and Skoda Octavia, among others.

Staying true to its Audi Sport legacy, this TT RS uses the 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine. In the normal RS, it was good for 340 metric horsepower (335 hp/250 kW) and was 20 ps (20 hp/15 kW) punchier in the RS Plus. Both feature an all-wheel drive system, just like the TTS and the V6-powered flavors and other derivatives of the car. The lesser models came with front-wheel drive solely.

This Audi TT RS is a US-spec car presented in dark gray metallic with a black interior. It has a custom exhaust system, a six-speed manual transmission, an aftermarket stereo with a subwoofer, and a touchscreen display signed by Alpine. It is said to have received over $30,000 in recent work, so it should be ready to hit the road again without any hassle despite the relatively high mileage.

With 93,633 miles (150,688 km) on the clock, it has seen a lot of action over the last decade, yet it is still an appealing proposal. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg, even if it has eaten a lot of money recently, as the vendor, which is Garage Kept Motors with the ad accessible here, asking $38,900 to let it go.

The car is in stock, and it's waiting for its next owner to put a lot of smiles on their face. It is obviously not the kind of ride the average Joe would appreciate. However, it's still a fun-to-drive machine and a serious antidote to crossovers, especially since it can haul some large items courtesy of the tailgate opening up into a generous cargo area. Well, generous for what is still a sports model.
