Honda has finally unveiled their FT_Bh Concept, a next generation small gasoline-electric hybrid concept car, today at the Geneva Motor Show. The focus of this car is to half the emissions of a the vehicles currently on the road through the use of light materials, more efficient systems and a hybrid drivetrain.
The Future Toyota tips the scales at just 786 kilograms and uses up only 2.1l/100 km (NEDC) with CO2 emissions of just 49 grams per kilometer. In addition the the petrol-electric mix on display, TMC has dreamed up two more cars, a (CNG) hybrid version with CO2 emissions of 38 g/km and a plug-in hybrid version with CO2 emissions of just 19 g/km.
In case you were wondering, the FT-Bh’s drivetrain is based on a long stroke 1.0-liter, two-cylinder Atkinson cycle gasoline engine, but most of the added efficiency comes from the aerodynamic body and the better use of energy.
