2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec Super Bowl Commercial

By far the most serious commercial Hyundai has readied for the Super Bowl comes in the form of a 30-second long ad that highlights the new 429-horsepower Genesis R-Spec sedan. Together with the other videos, it’s meant to create the impression of a performance brand. The large sedan you wouldn’t take a second look at is shown in its most hardcore V8 version, doing skids on the track as the announces say the top Genesis is faster to 60 mph (98 km/h) than the Porsche Panamera S.
We’ll remind you that the Genesis R-Spec is powered by Hyundai’s own 5.0-liter V8. This engine produces the most power out of all the engines ever installed in a Hyundai, 429 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 376 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. All that grunt is delivered to the back wheels through a new eight-speed automatic transmission, also developed by Hyundai engineers. The new box helps the car do 25 miles per gallon on highways and 16 mpg around town.

The R-Spec also comes with special features, like unique headlights with dark chrome inserts for a more distinctive front appearance, plus new bodging on the rear deck. The trim level is only be offered in conjunction with three sport-oriented exterior colors: Black Noir, Titanium Gray, and Platinum Metallic.
