The new BMW 3 Series has had its fair share of critics. Most of them focused on the fact that the new model is more a luxurious sedan with a touch of sportiness than the other way around. And they’re right. Scott Evans from Motor Trend had one for over a year and wrote a review about his experience.
The car he has is a 328i, the best possible choice if you ask me. It’s not as slow as the 320i and not as expensive as the 335i, you’ll get the perfect balance here, if you’re careful enough about the optional you get.

The only 2 problems he had with the 3er were restricted to crazy parking sensors that would go off without a reason (problem solved with a quick reset) and the steering column caving in at 14,533 miles, an issue BMW knows about and solved by a massive recall we talked about earlier this year. Therefore, both problems are easily solved.

Apart from that his complaints are minimal. Sure, you have to keep the car in sport mode to get the kicks you’re used to in a 3 Series but what’s the problem with that? I think it’s great that you get 2 cars for the price of one: a luxurious, comfortable sedan in Comfort mode and a Sporty, traditional 3 Series in Sport Mode. Not everyone likes to have their spine crushed every time they get behind the wheel.

As for the price tag, it might be a bit on the high side but get your options right and you can go below $50,000, easy. Check out his full take on the matter, though.
