2011 Yamaha Aerox SP55 Special Edition Scooter Launched

The British division of Yamaha introduced today a special version of its popular 50ccc Aerox scooter on the local market, which celebrates the year of the company’s foundation (1955). Dubbed Aerox SP55, the scooter sports a red and black bodypaint, finished with carbon effect touches, evoking Yamaha’s racing heritage.

Tech highlights of the new scooter include a high-output, liquid-cooled 49cc two-stroke engine, 190mm front and rear disc brakes, and 13-inch tires.

Styling wise, the three-tone seat, with carbon-print skin, is accompanied by red pinstripes on the wheels, to enhance the sporty look brought by the aforementioned paint scheme.

“With the roomy seat offering ample space for a passenger to join the action, a full-face helmet is easily accommodated in the storage space underneath it. And the scooter's streetwise, sporty attitude is expressed in the details: from scalloped air scoops to a special analogue speedo and fuel gauge,”
a company statement further adds.
