We’ve got to admit the 1 Series M Coupe made every other car around, as well as allthe other people, dissapear for a few moments, allowing us to enter a state of automotive trance at this year's NAIAS event. However, we came back to reality and started shooting the 2012 model year BMW 1 Series Coupe (135i) and Cabrio (128i).

The mild facelift received by the vehicles only brings upgrades for the exterior, interior and features departments, with the tech side being left untouched.

The list of exterior changes includes a reworked front apron that provides enhanced cooling for the wheels and create an “air curtain” for the face of the front wheels, redesigned headlamps and tailamps that use LED technology, new lightweight alloy rims that come in 17- and 18-inch sizes and two fresh colors, Marrakesh Brown and Vermilion Red.

The interior has received new trimming and upholstery options, a new sports steering wheel that is covered in leather and comes with shift paddles, an M leather steering wheels that also uses shift paddles.

The 128i comes with a naturally aspirated inline six-cylinder unit that delivers 230 hp and a peak torque of 200 lb-ft, while the 135i is powered by a N55 3.0 liter inline-six that uses twin-scroll turbocharging to produce 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.

The 135i Coupe comes with a starting price of $39,935, while the 128i Cabrio will set you back $37,475. The updated models will hit the American market this Spring.

Now, about that exterior kit of the 1 Series M Coupe...
