Hyundai has set a high goal for its new flagship saloon, the 2011 Equus, as the company is planning to offer an ultra-high level of quality, as well as a premium feeling. Now, the South Korean automaker has released the U.S. pricing for the vehicle.
The Equus is powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine that has an output of 385 hp and is mated to a SHIFTRONIC six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with features such as Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS), Electronically controlled air suspension with Continuous Damping Control (CDC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system with pre-collision warning, nine airbags (advanced dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags, driver knee airbag, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and others.
U.S. customers can choose between two trim levels: Signature (this is the entry-level one) and Ultimate. The latter brings additional goodies such as first-class passenger-side rear seat, leg support and massage system, rear-seat entertainment system with eight-inch monitor, forward-view cornering camera and a Power trunk lid.
As we previously reported, Hyundai will offer its range-topper the standard “At Your Service” . This is a complimentary valet service that covers all maintenance needs for five years of 60,000 miles. It covers the maintenance operations, offers valet pick-up and drop-off for the warranty, maintenance and service repairs and provides a Genesis or Equus replacement vehicle.
The 2011 Hyundai Equus has a starting price of $58,000, for the Signature model, while the Ultimate starts at $64,500. The first units of the vehicle will arrive in dealerships across America in December.
