2011 AC Cobra MkVI Heads to Geneva

The upcoming Geneva Auto Show, set to open its doors at the beginning of next month, will witness the celebration of AC Cars’ 110th anniversary, with the company’s latest model, the 2011 AC Cobra MkVI to be featured on the stand.

The car, retailing for €109,000 (about $150,000 at the current exchange rate) uses a classic American V8 engine (in this case the 430 bhp unit used in the Corvette), in combination with the German know-how in quality building.

Furthermore, potential customers are also informed they can now buy hand-crafted recreations of the iconic AC-badged cars from three different locations throughout the world (two in Europe and one in the US). Specifically, the company has established
the AC Heritage Centre in the UK, AC Germany (now in production with the AC MkV) and Iconic Motors in the United States.

“We’ve deliberately kept a low profile in recent months as we worked with the members of the AC family worldwide to breathe new life into our revered brand, and we will be announcing further exciting developments during 2011,”
Chairman of AC Cars Limited, Alan Lubinsky, said in a statement for the press.

“The key to our future though is based on achievement, so when we announce a new model it will be available – as the AC Mk VI is today – ready for sale. For the first time in a decade we’re able to provide customers with genuine, high quality cars from a range of proven production sources,” he added.
