2010 Classic Car Auction of Michigan Coming Up

Car collectors can start rubbing their hands, as a special event is coming up: RM Auctions will hold the 2010 Classic Car Auction of Michigan at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, April 24 and 25.

The annual action is the largest indoor event of its kind in the Midwest, and this year’s edition will offer over 300 special collector cars that will suit all tastes. Among these we can mention a 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible (the car is powered by a 90 HP V8 engine), a 1963 AMC Rambler Coupe that belonged to Michigan Governor, George Romney, a 1966 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe 427 and a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biaritz Convertible.

More recent (but not less special) vehicles include the first example of the 1983 Renault Alliance four-door sedan, a car that only has 22 miles on the odometer and a 2003 Dodge Neon SRT 4 that offers 215 HP and 245 lb-ft of torque. The latter is one of the first SRT cars produced. SRT stands for Street Racing Technology - Chrysler's high performance division.

The aficionados’ interest will be stimulated (not that such a measure was necessary) by a preview session, scheduled for April 23. This will last 5 hours. The event will be aired live on RM Auction’s website to allow people that can not attend the event to take part in it.

This year's event line-up will again showcase a great range of automotive history, much of which can be traced back to its origins here in the Midwest." said Ken Wallace, Car Specialist, RM Auctions.
