1983 Mercedes S-Klasse Tuned by INDEN

It’s good to see that tuners sometimes turn their attention to older models, just as the German tuners at Inden Design did back in 1991, when they worked on modifying a 1983 Mercedes S-Klasse. They decided to show it to us only 18 years later and, even if we're talking an old car, tuned decades ago, the visual and performance changes still worth look.

Visually, the INDEN 1983 Mercedes S-Klasse comes with widened front fenders from the 560 SE, 18 inch rims with Pirelli P Zero tires and around 70mm wider and higher lengthen rear wheel arches. Moving on with the exterior details, Inden applied a black paintjob on the car, while also featuring darkened windows and a custom radiator grill.

The model also features US headlamps and taillights, while the interior is completely covered in Nappa leather with Konig Sport seats in the front and recoated wood elements in gray bird’s eye maple.

The tuners also worked on the suspension and brought shortened dampers and progressive-rate lowering springs with 18mm wire gauge. Moreover, the modified 1983 S-Klasse has a similar brake system to the one of the DTM’s C-Klasse from 1991, namely an AP 6-piston sports brake system with 352 x 32mm discs.

As for the performance improvements, the car is powered by a 6.0-liter engine that develops 386 horsepower thanks to several engine and exhaust modifications, such as the addition of a stainless-steel sport exhaust system. All this is supported by a short axis with a blocker and an engine-transmission with 2B-coupling.
