We've all heard horror stories involving wheel nuts tightening issues, but when these usually show up, it's because the nuts hadn't been tightened properly. Well, today we're here to show you an example of what happens when the nuts are over-tightened.
It's all explained in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which shows us a rather gruesome episode involving a Renntech-tuned Mercedes-AMG A45.

As we mentioned in the title, the manic hatch loses a wheel while lapping Spa-Francorchamps, with the following moments showing us the face of a terrifying near crash (the driver does keep his cool, though). The damage? about ten grand.

We won't go over the details that led to driver's side front wheel quitting its job, as they're all covered in the video below. Then again, it's not difficult to imagine that, if a torque wrench had been used, none of this would've happened - and this is the lesson that needs to be learned here. While this obviously applied on the road, things get even more serious when you hoon your ride on the track, so you have double the reasons to not accept anything less than a torque wrench when having work done on your wheels.

However, for those of you who are familiar with Nurburgring settler Boosted Boris (or want to get to know the comrade), you should know he was unfortunate enough to be the one behind the wheel of the Affalterbach hot hatch when the whole story turned into the wrong kind of three-wheeling adventure.

And we have a hunch - since BB is one of the strongest Russians we know, perhaps the team that had tightened the nuts wanted to check out his actual arm vigor - as you'll notice in the clip, trying to steer your way out of a crash with just one wheel will only work if you hadn't skipped forearm day.
