Zero Motorcycles designed the Z-Force motor from the ground up to be compact, efficient and powerful. It delivers exhilarating acceleration to a top speed of 102 mph. Completely air-cooled, the motor provides a fantastic riding experience, minus the need for any regular maintenance. When slowing down, the motor generates electricity that is channeled back into the power pack to help extend ride times.

The 2017 Zero S and feature advanced cell chemistry and battery management systems that provide greater capacity and range. Not only does the ZF13.0 power pack enable you to go up to 202 miles, it is also designed to last the life of the motorcycle. The result of cutting-edge research and development, each cell in the power pack is individually controlled and monitored to ensure maximum health.

The Z-Force Power Tank adds 3.3 kWh of power pack storage capacity to any 2014 or later Zero S or Zero SR. An optional accessory, the Power Tank can be added at any time during or after motorcycle purchase, bringing the maximum battery capacity to 16.3 kWh. With that much energy, you can travel up to 202 miles in the city or 101 miles on the highway at 70 mph.

To expand riding opportunities and provide access to the growing public charging infrastructure, Zero has effectively tripled charging speed with the new Charge Tank accessory. Leveraging the popular J1772 standard, the Charge Tank is designed to work with Level 2 charging stations. ZF9.8 power packs can now be charged to 95% in about two hours, while the new higher capacity ZF13.0 takes about three hours.

At the heart of each Zero S model is a new and innovative Z-Force motor. Fundamentally redesigned, the interior permanent magnet (IPM) configuration produces power more efficiently, cools more rapidly and has greater thermal capabilities, significantly improving performance during hard riding and allowing higher sustained speeds.
