The Yamaha YR-5 is a Naked bike, build by Yamaha in 1970. This bike comes with a Single cylinder, parallel two-stroke engine. The R-5 was preceded by the YR-3, the main difference being the cylinders became water-cooled.

This final model launched in 1969 was a very different machine from the YR1 of just two years earlier. The engine still produced 36bhp, so was still very fast, but now with much less vibration, and a more usable power band making it easier to ride. This bike was the largest in the line that year. It was the first 350 cc they had build. In 1967 the engine was the first to use aluminium cylinder with cast iron sleeves. This bike it was equipped with a Twin cylinder, two-stroke, five speed.
