Indian Motorcycle redefined what an American V-Twin can be with the introduction of the FTR platform back in 2019. With the 2022 line-up, Triumph took the FTR platform to another level of street performance.

The bike already featured unique styling, a strong engine, and great handling, but with the new 2022 model, the FTR was at the top of its game when it came to performance on the tarmac.

The 2022 model received a new engine tune, optimized suspension settings, a steeper head angle, a shorter tail, and asphalt-oriented17 inches wheels and tires that delivered world-class performance and agility with a more compact feel.

In addition, the new bike also featured a fully adjustable front and rear suspension, a cylinder deactivation that managed engine heat at idle, a 110 mm digital touchscreen display, and a new engine calibration that improved cold starts.

As for personalization, the FTR featured a vast range of performance and comfort accessories that included new tank pads available in black and clear and a host of carbon fiber parts such as chain guards, V-covers, radiator guards, and a front fender.

As for performance, the 2022 Indian FTR 1200 S had its soul brought to life by a 1.203cc four-stroke V-Twin liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 123 hp and 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) of torque with maximum strength at 6,000 rpm.

The bike maker which likes to call itself the first American Motorcycle Company unveiled in late 2018 the FTR 1200 and FTR 1200 S.

FTR 1200 S borrowed the design and style from FTR750, but also the FTR 1200 Custom. The model has a fully adjustable front and rear suspension, Brembo brakes, and three Ride Modes (Sport, Standard, Rain).

The power generator for the model is a 1203cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine, developing 120 hp (89 kW) and 118 Nm (87 ft-lb) at 6.000 rpm. The engine was fitted with a low-inertia crankshaft to achieve faster acceleration, and the maker used magnesium to reduce weight. The Indian FTR 1200 S weighs 226 kg (497 lbs) with an empty tank, and 235 kg (518 lbs) with a full tank.

The fuel tank is located under the seat to maximize the weight distribution, and, for better airflow and power, the airbox is mounted above the engine. The swingarm design is copied from the FTR750.

Both FTR models are fitted with LED lighting, a fast charge USB port, ABS, and Cruise Control.

In 2019 both models were shipped to dealers, and in 2022 the price for the Indian FTR 1200 S started at $16,499 (for the FTR 1200, that's $12,999).
