In 1985, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia STX 125, an entry-level motorcycle that suited the youngest riders amongst Aprila fans as well as the more seasoned ones who wanted a fuel-efficient motorcycle.

The 1985 entry-level motorcycle came equipped with standard features, such as a front cowl with a square headlight, a windscreen, an engine cowl, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a black-finished engine, and five-spoke aluminum wheels with road tires.

In the performance department, the 1985 Aprilia STX 125 had its soul brought to life by a 124cc liquid-cooled two-stroke single-cylinder engine mounted underneath the fuel tank. It was controlled by a 26 mm Dell'Orto carburetor and delivered an output power of 21 hp with a peak force at 8,000 rpm.

Its small engine was tied to a six-speed transmission with a wet multi-disc manual clutch that sent the power towards the rear axle via a final chain drive, pushing the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 135 kph (84 mph).

For suspension, the bike packed a 32 mm non-adjustable Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front and a dual-sided swingarm with a single shock absorber on the rear, providing excellent suspension performance and handling.

As for the stopping power, the bike relied on a single 240 mm brake disc mounted on the front and a single 230 mm brake disc mounted on the rear.
