The Polo is one of the best known subcompact cars in Europe, having sold millions of examples through many generations. That's probably why "Polo SUV" is so catchy the past few months. Rumors of a subcompact SUV from Volkswagen have been circulating for quite some time now, but Volkswagen never gave us something tangible
That all could change, as a report from AutoBild suggest the Polo SUV could be shown as a concept in Geneva two months from now. That's purely speculation on their part, but the German magazine says production will actually happen in 2016.

Company bosses have given the green light for the Polo SUV, which will not actually be called that, but estate, van or convertible models are completely out of the question. Audi was originally interested in the project, but has pulled out to make its small SUV on the A3 platform.
