Supercar Abuse: Porsche 911 Fished out of a River

This isn’t the first time today that we brought you the story of a misused Porsche 911 Turbo, yet this is far worse than carrying a mattress in our honest opinion. However, this is the first time we’ve every seen the actual car getting pulled out of the water by a crane.

A beautiful silver Porsche 911 got a lot of attention from a crowd gathered to see it by the Rhine in Switzerland, but it was for all the wrong reasons. Information regarding what exactly happened is scarce, but want thing is for sure: we wouldn’t be in any sort of hurry to buy this car after its dip into the river.

Police is still looking into the incident to find out what happened, but according to Czech publication 20min.cz, the 24-year old owner of this supercar borrowed it to one of his friends, aged 29. But instead of going to Germany in search of ever greater top speeds, he must have wanted to check the water-resistant qualities of the welds.

We guess it’s better than getting a ticket from the police for speeding in the friend’s case, but the owner will have to go and buy a new one now. Seeing as there’s a new generation of 911 coming in December, it might be a good thing, but the Turbo version won’t be here until later next year.

Still, he might get a better deal on the old generation, seeing as it will be obsolete soon. But we wouldn’t take this silver one as a trade-in if we were his dealer.
