Here we have the latest spyshots of the brand new nameplate from Mercedes, the S-Class Coupe. We've been following this car in various forms, including the S63 AMG Coupe testing at the Nurburgring. This time though, we likely have a less powerful S500 model equipped with a biturbo 4.7-liter V8, though a smaller biturbo V6 could potentially be offered as well, a type of engine that wasn't available on the CL.
Wearing black camouflage over silver body paint, the S-Class Coupe is seen here undergoing winter testing in Northern Sweden. The ultimate Mercedes coupe will be packed with advanced technology, including lots of active safety systems, all-LED headlights and potentially even Magic Body Control, the system credited for turning the S into a magic carpet.
For all the hype created around it, this particular S-Class is not that exciting to look at. There are no bold statements being made, the wheels are small in proportion to the wheel arches and the color is drab. But Mercedes has all kinds of customers, including ones that don't want to stand out.
