A young team from the Camal design center based in Turin, Italy, has come up with the idea of a vehicle that would hardly fit into a segment. That’s why they have created a new segment called "hypersuv." The Ramusa is its first member.
Because it tries to combine the performance of a hypercar with increased ride height, but still under 1.5 meters high, and it can tackle any type of terrain, this car cannot be called a hypercar nor an SUV. In some ways, it's similar to the now defunct Mega Track or the Giugiaro Parcour Concept.

The new hypersuv is a two-seater, mid-engined concept car, the first of its kind, born out of the desire of a young team to create something truly unusual.

Ramusa is 4,320mm long, 2,020mm wide, 1,300mm high and has a ground clearance of 250mm.

The exterior was created to be more like a work of art, with every element combining functionality with beauty. The carbon fiber off-road wheel arches give the concept an aggressive stance suggesting its extreme capabilities.

The original character is given by features such as the car’s roof that resembles more mid-engined sports cars, the lack of a classic radiator grille or the air intakes and lighting clusters that are beautifully integrated into the body.

The vehicle is powered by the legendary quad-turbo 3.5-liter, 60 valves, V12 engine from the Bugatti EB110. The power unit is not the only thing Ramusa is borrowing from the EB110. The carbon chassis as well as other components are taken from Bugatti’s supercar, too.

The concept also integrates a hybrid system that powers the front wheels. Together with the gasoline engine, the combined power reaches 800 hp, which are being pushed to the rear wheels by a 6-speed gearbox. During quick accelerations, the central mounted electric engine allows the car to use the four-wheel-drive mode for better traction.

Founded in 2008 by Alessandro Camorali, the Camal design center, together with its team of young designers and virtual modelers, creates special projects and unique designs. Camorali has worked in the past with some of the most famous brands and design studios, such as Stille Bertone, Fiat, and Ferrari.

The name Ramusa means "lizard" in the Piedmontese dialect, and it is a tribute that Camorali has dedicated to Bertone.
