Nevada Highway Public Race Announced

An automotive race doesn't have to be famous in order to conquer the hearts of automotive enthusiasts. Sometimes, newly-born races, especially the ones held on mountain roads, can become events that fascinate participants, creating lifetime-lasting memories.

As far as we can tell from the press release, this seems to be true for the upcoming “1st annual Speed by Spectre 341 Challenge”. The event, scheduled to be held on the Nevada Highway 341, on June 25-26, will welcome any kind of street legal registered performance car running on road tires. The invitation-only race will include “Pro-Touring street vehicles, European Exotics and Highly-Tuned Imports”.

Drivers will enjoy a 5.2 miles course (the portion of the highway will be closed) that offers 22 turns, an altitude difference of 1,216 feet, steep cliffs and a bear road (no guard rails). The route was previously used for the Virginia City Hill Climb event.

"We are always looking for ways to go faster, to prove our parts at maximum velocity," says Spectre Performance founder Amir Rosenbaum. "We autocross and road race our muscle cars and set a 330mph Land Speed Record at Bonneville last year; but to this day one of the most challenging and exhilarating events I’ve ever participated in was the Virginia City Hill Climb. The Speed by Spectre 341 Challenge will bring that excitement back, but with the addition of muscle, exotic and import cars competing against each other it will be an incredible weekend. We are also very lucky to have FM3 Marketing onboard to ensure everything runs smoothly."
