The Fiat 500 is a nice cuddly car, with some nostalgia behind it, but other than that, it really has no other attribute that would make it desirable for the garage keepers of the very wealthy Chinese men. Provided, of course, it does not come wrapped in gold.
What do you know, it does come wrapped in gold. Or should we say, it doesn't, but it can, if you want it to and have an estimated $667,000 (EUR500,000) at your disposal to make your dream come true.
Fenice Milano, an Italian tuner who uses materials like gold or diamonds to convert the cars to the customer's specifications, says it has received an order from a Chinese man to build one very special Fiat 500.
Starting from a regular Abarth 500, the tuner was asked to create a model which will be reminiscent of the 500 model launched in 1957. Officially called La Dolce Vita Gold and Diamonds 200hp, the model comes equipped with the following mind-twisting features:
- front and rear fender molding in 24K gold
- side pillars in 24K gold
- decorations and logos in 24K gold
- sill moldings in 24K gold
- headlights in 24K gold and custom rear lights
- exterior mirrors in 24K gold
- door handles in 24K gold
- 17’’ custom wheels in 24K gold
- exhaust pipe terminal in 24K gold
- electrical convertible top with gold finishes.
As an extra addition, the model ordered by the Chinese man also comes equipped with an iPad Supreme Edition, it too wrapped in 24k gold and diamonds by English designer Stuart Hughes.
Once the styling part of the project was over, the Fenice team turned to Romeo Ferraris for some engine tweaking, transforming the car into a 200 horsepower midge. Well worth all that money, we'd say...
