Bultaco Revived, Starts New Electric Era

Bultaco announces debut electric bike 1 photo
It looks like these are good times for the revival of certain motorcycle brands. After Voxan and Sarolea, the Spanish Bultaco bike maker will unveil its all-new bike, but just like the aforementioned two, it’s going to be an electric model.
The new, electric Bultaco bike is said to be unveiled on the 17th of May in London, UK, but that’s about all the information on it at the time of writing. Bultaco has been working together with the Universtity of Madrid Carlos III for about 4 years now, and this is one detail which makes things all the more interesting. Aside from the total silence veiling this undertaking, spending 4 years to design a bike should produce a truly remarkable results. We’ll see…

With a solid experience in manufacturing both road racing and off-road motorcycles, the iconic Spanish company seems to have “switched lanes” and gone over to the electric side, in an attempt to reinvent itself and start anew in the business. As long as the new Bultaco machine will be an affordable one packing practicality and decent specs, we might just see the brand back to life in a really nice way.

The electric bikes segment is growing, but affordability is still one of the major issues for the new machines, while government incentives, warranty and battery life are also facts customers consider when planning to go electric. Well, with Bultaco planning to pull the wraps off their new e-bike due in one week, our questions will soon find an answer.
