Talk about a coincidence, what were the chances that a Tesla Model S and a BMW i3 would meet... In a gas station?? Not only they are both EVs but they’re also supposed to be very rare in Europe and somewhat direct competitors.
However, this actually happened as you can see, thanks to a funny twitter picture posted by the Chargelocator team, captured in a Shell station somewhere in Germany.
The i3 however, is not a proper competitor for the Tesla both because of the price and the purpose. The Bimmer has an electric engine that develops 170 HP and 250 Nm of torque and an autonomy of 100 miles without the range extender, thanks to its under 1.2 tone weight.
The Tesla, on the other hand, has a 420 HP engine with 600 Nm (433 lb-ft) of torque on board and takes its energy from a 60 or 85 kWh lithium-ion battery that will keep it going for around 265 miles. However, this one weighs over 2 tones and it’s properly big.
Fortunately, nothing happened and no sparks went off so that everyone could go home!
