BMW specialist tuner Hartge has started the customization and tuning program for the BMW 1-Series with the 116i version of the new, F20 generation model.
We’re talking about the underpowered base model of the range, which comes with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol with TwinPower Turbo and direct injection technology, but only 136 horsepower and 220Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque.
However, Hartge’s engine remap has pushed the engine to a more respectable 171 horsepower and 265Nm (195 lb-ft) at 2,000 rpm. To show the improvement in pulling power, the tuner has also posted a video of the car’s in-hear acceleration between 80-180km/h (50-112mph).
The cosmetic touches you can bring to your Hartge 116i include a set of aluminum pedals, bespoke floor mats, 19-inch custom wheels and a sports exhaust.
