Now available to order in the (not-so-)United Kingdom, the Audi Q2 can be yours from £20,230. Customers who place an order when Audi opens the order books in August will get delivery in November.
Four engine options will be available at first. The range starts with a 1.0-liter TFSI turbocharged three-banger that produces 115 PS (113 bhp). This mill can be matched only with the six-speed manual transmission. If you move on up to the 1.4-liter TFSI, the Audi Q2 will entertain you with 150 PS (148 bhp) and an available 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. On the oil-chugging end of the spectrum, British customers can choose between the 1.6-liter TDI and 2.0-liter TDI.
Regarding pricing, the cheapest 2017 Audi Q2 starts in the United Kingdom from £20,230. The cheapest diesel-powered model will set you back at least £22,480, while the range-topping Q2 2.0 TDI quattro starts from £30,610. Let that sum sink in for a moment. Thirty. Thousand. Six. Hundred. And. Ten. Frigging. Pounds! I don’t mean to be Capt. Obvious, but £390 more will buy you the Ford Focus RS Mk3.
If, however, the Q2 is higher on your priorities list, then I’m much obliged to tell you that British customers can get it in three specifications levels. The SE comes as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, heated and electrically adjustable mirror, etcetera. The mid-range Sport trim level boasts 17-inch wheels, cruise control, sports seats, light and rain sensors, sat nav, and a lot more.
The range-topping Audi Q2 S line adds a few welcomed goodies, including styling enhancements such as 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and taillights, dynamic sweeping rear indicators, LED interior lighting, and cloth/leather upholstery on with S embossing, just to name a few. The closest rivals of the newest entry in the premium compact SUV segment are the Mercedes-Benz GLA (£25,260) and MINI Countryman (£17,125).
