After two sub-standard attempts at making a city car, Mercedes-Benz made a thoroughly fine machine the third time around with the W176 A-Class. Of all models available, the berserk uber hatchback known as the A 45 AMG is the one we all desire.
The current generation A-Class has been around since 2012 and the A 45 AMG since 2013. For these reasons, the three-pointed star is currently developing the facelift for the entire W176 model lineup. Our spy photographers got a peek at the 2016 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG and good golly, you're in for a real treat.
The outgoing model makes do with an M133 2-liter twin-scroll turbo four-banger makes do with 360 PS (355 HP) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
Up to 380 PS (375 HP or 280 kW) it's believed. If this power bump pans out, then we'll be looking at a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) stint of around 4.5 seconds. Furthermore, an update for the 7-speed automatic and an even more sophisticated 4Matic AWD system could be in the cards. Top speed? 250 km/h (155 mph).
On the styling front, don't expect more than redesigned headlamps and taillights, joined by a unique AMG radiator grille and some subtle modifications to the front and rear bumpers. As you can also see in the picture that depicts the cabin design, the dashboard doesn't seem to have been changed too much. By the way, word is a 2016 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG S is also on its way, churning out up to 385 horsepower.

As for the 2016 A 45 AMG, voices in the industry hint towards more power than on the pre-facelift
Because it's less powerful than the 2015 Audi RS3, Mercedes-AMG Tobias Moers promised two things about the refresh for the A-Class. For starters, it will be introduced "this fall" (in September) and it will "be the most powerful [C-segment hot hatchback] again."
