After it’s done completing the Range Rover family with the new Sport and the long wheelbase model, Land Rover will likely start focusing on their upcoming volume car, the 2015 Defender, which was previewed by the DC100 concept last year.
Right now, the project is a bit hazy to us, as Land Rover was rumored to be turning the DC100 into a production car as-is, making it into a cheaper SUV for young people, not a rugged off-roader. Also, it’s been reported that the Defender would be built in India, and that it would be delayed for 2017.

According to Car UK magazine, the new Defender will become a global marketing exercise. It will be sold in the US as well, something that hasn’t happened in 15 years now. This was to be expected, since the DC100 and DC100 Sport were shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
