2013 BMW R 1200 GS and GSA Get US Prices
text size: A- A+
The retailer advertises the two bikes are in stock and both have a 13 mile mileage. The R 1200 GS comes in Magma Red as a primary color and retails for $20,990 (€16,236). The GS Adventure in Alpine White/ Sand Rover color scheme comes with a $21,390 (€16,545) price tag.
Once more, we stress that the 2013 R 1200 GS is the first in the series featuring water cooling, and advertised by the manufacturer as being able to shame competitor bikes such as the Ducati Multistrada 1200 and Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere in terms of overall performance.
The R 1200 GS series is widely-spread across the US and has a huge fan base. While soem riders are really getting the best the big GS has to offer, there also are a lot of customers who go for the iconic brand name and the fact that North America hasn't produced yet a worthy competitor for the European adventure-touring bikes.
As the direct enemy of the 2012 R 1200 GS is the KTM 1190 Adventure priced significantly lower, we can't wait for sales to start ona large scale and see how these competitors fare.

That price seems a little high to me. Why would it be $4k more than a 2012 camhead?

Interesting (bs...). LC Adventure if ever, will not come out for the next two years. As for the "normal" LC (2013) GS, I doubt ANYBODY has ANY in stock (I mean anywhere on the planet inc. Germany). The only explanation would be that he bought one of the Intermoto demos for a premium to again sell it at a premium (which would explain the prices too). Still I DOUBT that.

Well if you go on the site, you will notice that this is still the "old" Adventure (exhaust on the left side) and air head engine, not water cooled. Usually, the Adventure ships at least 6 months after the ordinary GS, so it seems we shall wait until 2014 :-(

We know that the LC 2013 GSA is not out yet. Are these people trying to scr... customers? Not good business practice.
