2012 Lexus LS 600h L Introduced

Lexus is all about hybrids these days, with the carmaker turning the petrol-electric combination into a religion. The flagship Lexus vehicle that features this technology is the LS 600h L.

The luxury hybrid is now prepraing to enter the 2012 model year, so we have to see what will this bring. Well, there will be a few new touches here and there, but don't expect important changes.

Basically, the only notable thing is that the Smoky Granite Mica exterior color will be repalced by the Nebula Gray Pearl.

This means that the LS 600h L will rely on the same powertrain that include a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine and two electric motors, with one motor being used as an engine starter, while the other offering propulsion.

Thus, the driver gets to use a total of 438 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque, which allows the large saloon to offer sports car-like acceleration, as it completes the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 5.5 seconds. Of course, all-wheel-drive also plays an important role here.

AS for the fuel efficiency, this sits at ar 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway (EPA ratings), with the vehicle meeting the SULEV II standard.

The fact that the car features an all-electric mode allows its passenger to enjoy a completely quiet ride when this is used and this is one of the aspects that impresses in this segment.
