2010 Toyota Prius Tuned by Tommy Kaira

The Japanese have another proof that tuning is sometimes incredibly stupid: the eco-tuned 2010 Toyota Prius. The project was developed by the Tommy Kaira tuning house and seems to be just in time for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010.

The exterior of the modified Prius features an aggressive body kit. The new exterior parts are made from carbon fiber and are available in the same color as the car or in a matte black finish.

The Tommy Kaira Prius bodykit includes:
  • a front spoiler
  • grille trim
  • decorative trim for the bumper
  • side skirts
  • a roof spoiler
  • a rear apron with integrated diffuser that houses four tail pipes

Apart from the bodykit, the tuning house also offers new alloy wheels in order to complete the car’s image. You can choose between two sizes: 16 inches or 18 inches.

Apart from the visual upgrades, the Tommy Kaira tuning house doesn’t offer any important performance upgrades for the 2010 Toyota Prius. Both the gasoline and the electric engine have the same performance as they did before.

The car only got a new braking system, a sports suspension in order to bring the Prius closer to the ground and a sports exhaust systems. Other available upgrades include illuminated Toyota logos, a sports steering wheel, specific floor mats, HID and LED lights.

Though the car does not look that bad, it has no purpose. So the only people who might be interested in spending that kind of money for pimping their Priuses are cool moms and tree-hugging rappers.
