autoevolution's Corvette Month

Like few other car nameplates out there, the Chevrolet Corvette needs little introduction. Born in the 1950s as a herald of the booming post-war era, it quickly rose to the status of America's Sports Car, and more or less kept it for the decades that passed since.

Spanning eight generations (the first one born in 1953, the most recent just two years ago), the Corvette is one of the most celebrated vehicles in the world. It entered the spotlight with the 1960s Route 66 TV series, and from there onwards it has always been in the news, always on the track, always turning heads around and pockets inside out.

This year, about halfway through the life of the mid-engine C8 as we know it, the Corvette has been overshadowed by other events and products. At least, that’s how it feels from where we’re standing, so we decided to change that.

Enter Corvette Month, a four-week-long celebration of all things Corvette, taking place right here on autoevolution. Old and young, barn find or shiny restoration, custom or stock, the ‘Vette in its many forms will find a place here throughout November, in an all-out celebration of what it means to be American fast and cool.
