Zongshen RX3 250cc Adventure Bike Rebranded as CSC Cyclone RX3 for the US Market

Remember the M1nsk TRX300i quarter-liter adventure bike launched by the Belarusian manufacturer earlier this year when we reported that it was only a rebranded Zongshen RX3 machine? Good, because the same bike is now getting ready to enter the North American market, also rebranded. However, it’s not M1nsk making this bold move but the local fellows at California Scooter Company (CSC), guys with a decent experience in selling small-displacement bikes, as well.

The Zongshen RX3 will become the Cyclone RX3, CSC President Steve Seidner tells advpulse. The standard package includes a lot of goodies which will make this bike truly attractive, especially as it will probably be one of the cheapest adventure machines on the US.

As CSC says, the Cyclone RX3 will pack a quarter-liter liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine witch can produce just short of 25 horsepower and 16.5 lb-ft (22.4 Nm) of torque, mated to a 6-speed transmission which should make this bike fun off the road as well as on the highway. Bur the list is way larger, as the standard trim for the bike will also include a touring windscreen, electric start, panniers and top case, adjustable suspensions and off-road-compliant wire-spoked rims.

The top speed of the CSC Cyclone RX3 is said to be 84 mph (135 km/h), while the 31.3” (795mm) seat height will make it suitable for a lot of riders. The RX3 tips the scales at 359lb (162 kg) dry, which is a bit on the heady side for a quarter liter machine, but this figure may be palatable if it includes the panniers and their racks.

Still the $3,495 (€2,715) price will most likely be a major selling point, as this makes it a truly affordable machine. So far the Cyclone RX3 looks like a winning move, as its price tag is in the ballpark of what 125cc scooters go for. The bike is currently in the process of being certified for the US, with CSC aiming to make it street-legal in all 50 states. After the paper work is done, pre-orders will be available for $2,895 (€2,245), and CSC says the first batch of bikes will also be accompanied by a large number of spare parts for flawless servicing.
