Bel & Bel makes no secret about the fact that the Zero-Scooter is heavily inspired by the Vespa machine created by Corradino D’Ascanio in 1946. The apron is unmistakable and even though it has no functional purpose in the design of the Zero-Scooter, its presence is a timeless tribute to the Vespa design. If you wish, the apron is there so that nobody could ever mistake this two-wheeler for anything than one of Vespa's heirs.
The funniest thing is that the Zero-Scooter is, in fact, a conversion kit for the sweet Xiaomi NineBot. Underneath the Vespa "clothes" you will find a fully functional, high-tech NineBot.
The NineBot will retain its warranty even after installing the Bel & Bel Zero-Scooter kit, and this is simply great. Basically, the riders will benefit from all the fun the NineBot provides, but be able to ride in style and turn a lot of heads.
Bel & Bel's Zero-Scooter tips the scales at 25 kg (55 lb) and is 60 cm (23.6") wide. Its makers say that the kit can be delivered in any color, and this is another strong selling point. This "Vespway" can reach a top speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph) and can climb 20-degree gradients.
Power comes from a 55V 450Wh pack that feeds dual 1350W motors. A full charge will last for up to 25-30 km (15.5-18.5 miles) depending on the usage. Zero-Scooter riders must weigh under 100 kg (221 lb).
They can interact with the Bell & Bel Zero-Scooter with both Apple and Android smartphones via Bluetooth, which is also a plus. The price is not the friendliest feature of the Zero-Scooter, as getting one will set you back €5,950 ($6,770).
