Zenith Becomes Official Timing Partner for 2015 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

It’s not the first time we hear that Zenith is sponsoring a premium auto event. As opposed to other Swiss luxury timepiece makers in the industry, however, it appears the company founded in 1865 by Aldo Magada likes to keep things as classy and vintage as possible. In a way, it's just like the British Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) event.

UK’s most dynamic Motorsport event” how the organizers describe it, is not a vintage type of auto development, but they do feature old-school vehicles throughout the three-day fair. Either way, the point is the luxury watchmaker has recently announced they have closed a two-year partnership with the CPOP.

Throughout this collaboration, Zenith will provide official timing boards for all the laps on the Cholmondeley track. Iconic automobiles such as the Ferrari F40, Porsche Carrera GT, Arial Nomad, numerous historic F1 cars, Ducati Desmosedici and even a vintage 1924 Brough Superior will all be vying to top the timesheets. It’s quite a view, to be honest.

As part of its partnership with CPOP, Zenith will also be giving the El Primero Chronomaster 1969, its most iconic chronograph timepiece, to the five winners on track.

With the Open feature which allows the wearer to see the beating heart of the El Primero movement, the most precise chronograph movement since 1969 and the original colors on the subdials, the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 is a timeless piece,” Zenith explains in the press release below.

We haven’t quite yet had the chance to attend any of the previous editions, but we hear the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power event is worth all the money. In case you’re making plans for this Summer, you should now this year’s event starts on June 12 and runs through June 14.
