Italian exhaust manufacturer Zard reveals the all-new line-up of parts and complete systems for the BMW R nineT. As is the case most of the times, these cans are offered in stainless steel and titanium and will make the bike lighter, while adding to both the performance figures and the tonal character of the boxer engine.
One of the coolest things about the new range of Zard exhausts is that they come in both a 1-can version and in a better-looking 2-into-2 package. They come with removable db-killer inserts and are homologated for street use.

The smallest weight loss a new Zard part will bring is of approximately 200 grams (0.5 lb), which is, undoubtedly, insignificant. However, going for a full titanium exhaust line might shave off as much as 4.3 kg (9.5 lbs) from the R nineT.

We're definitely hooked on the Capitan full kit. It is the most complex of all Zard's new offers for BMW's neo-retro roadster, but it certainly makes everything look like a million bucks. In a way, the Capitan kit looks unnaturally rough for a modern machine, especially with all the welding marks in plain sight.

The kit comprises two silencers, and having one can on either side of the R nineT adds a most welcome sensation of visual balance. Combined with a solo seat, the Capitan exhausts make the R nineT look like a real racer.

If you feel like adding a Capitan kit to your R nineT, you should also know this comes at a price. The titanium collectors and cans are complemented by a matching steel front fender, a titanium air intake, a windscreen and intake covers also made from titanium, all available for €1,850 ($2,050).

Other cans in the collection are the Bad Child and N.2 Limited Edition, with prices that start as low as €549 ($607). The Bad Child unit can also be ordered in ceramic black with matching headers and end caps. Check out the Zard add-ons for the BMW R nineT.
