Zagato to Be Aquired by CPP British Coachbuilder

The legendary Italian design house Zagato, which stands behind amazing works like the recent Aston Martin V12 Zagato and Alfa Romeo Zagato TZ3, has reportedly been sold to CPP Globlal Holdings ltd. CPP is a British coachbuilder owned in part by Russian millionaire Vladimir Antonov, who is the recent buyer of Spyker’s former sports car division as well as off road company Bowler.

CPP made an official statement saying that it was in the advanced stages of acquiring Zagato and that the process should be completed within the next four to six months, pending approval by all interested parties of course.

“CPP is in advanced stages of completing the acquisition of the Zagato automotive designs studios.  The acquisition process is expected to be completed over the next four-to-six months, pending approval by all interested parties.  Further details will follow only whe nthe acquisition is complete. CPP’s proposed acquisition of Zagato is part of its strategy to become a world-leading specialist automotive group, based in Coventry.  In January 2011, CPP completed the acquisition of Bowler – the manufacturer of rally raid racers based on Land Rover technology.  In February 2011, CPP signed a Memorandum of Understanding with regard to the acquisition of the Spyker sports car company,” an official statement reads,

Zagato is itself a small company and it too recently announced a partnership with Aston Martin. CPP Global Holdings Ltd. helps build the Aston Martin One-77 supercar and is also responsible for the Ferrari 575 GTZ limited edition Zagato. We are expecting that one of the most glamorous design design houses which is Zagato to be run from Coventry.
