Zagato Perana Z-One Enters Production

We first heard about the high-performance Perana Z-One back at the beginning of 2009, when the car showed all the potential of being something that would make everyone’s jaws drop. There have since been a few announcements regarding the project here and there, but Zagato has been kept busy with the TZ3 Stradale, a new sportscar developed with Aston Martin and the Fiat 500 coupe.

Now, PistonHeads report that the Perana Z-One will also join the automotive fray, as the model has just entered production, with deliveries in the UK set to begin soon. The South Africa-built coupe will see the light of day as early as July, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The gist of it is that the car looks devilishly good from the back, comes with a 442 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 (LS3 GM motor) coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox with ZF limited-slip differential, and should only set you back about GBP70,000 in the UK from specialist Mole Valley Specialist Cars.

For that, you get air-con, a touch-screen infotainment and sat-nav system, Brembo brakes, and optional Recaro seats. Expect to see a lot of expensive optional paint finishes and interior trim offerings to be made available. It all sound too good to be true: a perfect mix of American muscle and classic coupe looks.
