Battery specialist Yuasa announces a new generation of high-power batteries called GYZ. The Yuasa GYZ batteries are engineered to replace the YTX and YIX units, while offering a performance upgrade in terms of safety, fitment and power.
The new Yuasa GYZ batteries use the Absorbed Glass Mat technology, an advanced design which eliminated water loss and provides longer, more dependable performance in various conditions. These batteries only need to be filled with acid once and they don’t require adding water after this point. The GYZ units have a lead calcium design and will hold its specific gravity three times longer than conventional batteries.

Factory freshness is maintained by shipping the batteries dry, with acid recommended to be added only prior to installation. Once the acid is loaded, the battery is virtually maintenance-free, with the electrolyte absorbed in the special separators and plates, and eliminating the leak risks which can cause expensive damage to vehicle parts.

The GYZ32HL, GYZ20HL and GYZ20H models come with built-in brass nuts which offer 50% better conductivity than stainless steel, and their applicability is enhanced thanks to convenient, both vertical and horizontal connectors. These models are fit for installation in v-twin and metric motorcycles, as well as in various ATVs and UTVs (see attached PDF).

A special GYZ32HL model packs in a no-nonsense 500 CCA (cold cranking amps) with a 32 Ah capacity, and is intended for installation in big-bore v-twin bikes and ATVs. The 6 new GYZ batteries are expected presently in all authorized Yuasa dealerships, so if you felt like adding more electric or electronic accessories to your bike, maybe getting a stronger battery is a wise decision.
