Believed to be the signature vessel of the Imperial fleet, the Star Destroyer ship was as popular as Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon and TIE Interceptor. No wonder the RC enthusiast has decided to build a drone after the famous fictional spaceship.
Whether it’s the fact that he also build Millennium Falcon and TIE Interceptor drones or that he described the “Location & Date” as being “In a galaxy far, far away” we believe it’s more than obvious the French fellow is more than a simple Star Wars fan. And we thank the Universe such people still exist.

As we all know, the Star Destroyer first appears in the original Star Wars trilogy, it’s when Han Solo refers to them as “Imperial cruisers”. In fact that’s the official name the spaceship received and what the characters of the famous epic space opera would call them until The Empire Strikes Back.

In real life, Industrial Light & Magic, an Academy Award-winning motion picture visual effects company founded by George Lucas, built a 91-centimeter (36 in) shooting model of the ship for A New Hope. Later on, when they were shooting The Empire Strikes Back, they made a bigger scale model which was equipped with internal lighting to provide a better sense.

Looking back at where everything started from, it’s quite impressive to see that our technology has come to a point where amateurs are actually able to build their own spaceships lookalike drones they can fly for fun in the park.

Similar to his previous models, this too is made of lightweight foam and aluminum. It also seems to have some additional LED lights, so it gets the appearance of thrusters and blasters. We just hope this fellow finally decides to open up a shop so we get to buy one.
