Your Very Own Tiki Island is Equipped With a Fresh-Water Volcano

This beastly looking thing is named the Tropical Island Paradise and was designed by British Yacht Island Designs. Have you ever seen anything like it? For god’s sake, it’s got a volcano on it.

The moment I saw it, I realized I had to write something about it. Just look at it! My first instinct was to laugh, but then I realized that some human thought this whole thing through and got paid for it. And frankly, it’s not that weird of an idea.

The design was inspired by islands in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Polynesia. And honestly, I believe it. My eyes have no idea what they’re looking at. The initial idea is that someone just wanted their own island. A number of designs were drawn up until a combination of traits began taking shape into the final concept. The design team wanted to give this yacht an oceanic shape and feel, something resembling waves, but that also offered the necessary space to put a volcano on its back.

And that’s exactly where the volcano is. On the top deck, in the back. Now don’t worry, there’s no lava in it, it simply feeds the pool with water. Underneath the volcano is where the magic happens. It houses the two-story owner’s suite and private spa.

What I found nice was that as the water flows form the edge of the volcano to the decks below, it creates waterfalls. That water then flows through the “village” and into the pool, which I have to point out is located on the front of the ship and offers you a front row seat to where ever you’re traveling to.

The design for the village however, isn’t really one that I would be too fond of. Here you’ll find guest cabanas, the bar, and an outdoor dining area. It’s a neat idea to have something like this for you and the friends, but being a little crowded, they should be the friends that have seen you naked.

Wait a minute. That’s it! This yacht is just perfect for that one lucky guy and gals. But if you must take the family, there are four VIP suites on the lower decks that allow for direct access to the lagoon area. Each suite includes its own balcony as well.

By looking at the photos it would seem that there is a whole lot more space in that volcano. And there is. Being a super-yacht, the volcano houses part of the fun. You will find a cinema inside, a games room, a gym, a library, and a spa.

The other really neat thing about this floating turtle is the back-side. The rear of the yacht houses a sun deck that doubles as a helipad, but underneath, at sea level, the ship has a deployable beach deck to allow for some jet-ski fun or if you just can’t take another lap in the pool.

Whatever the reasons as to why you would want your own private island, it seems that the Tropical Island Paradise does offer a lot of that feel. The only thing missing is the sand. Nonetheless, if you do decide that you want the sand too, Yacht Island take pride in being able to achieve the original client-driven concept.
