All these photos of shiny new rim designs on Skoda were taken at a single event, the Geneva Motor Show. The automaker is know more for simplicity and affordability, though we can't help but like some of the wheel designs they've come up with for 2014 and beyond.
Besides the VisionC, which was the Czech equivalent of a Passat CC, there really wasn't anything note-worthy for us to see at the Skoda stand in Geneva. But these small details on actual production cars show Skoda is making a lot of little changes which keep the customers coming.

Just take the adjacent image as an example. 19-inch Xtreme alloy wheels are shown, belonging to the new Octavia vRS hot sedan/estate. They have a gunmetal gray finish, are paired with red brakes
and shod in sticky Pirelli P Zero performance tires. What more could you ask for. The Octavia vRS is of course Skoda's equivalent of a Golf GTI, only it comes with a larger trunk and is also available as a diesel.

17-inch Savio Schwarz alloys were another set we particularly liked. They're a very deep shade of gloss black, fitted to the Monte Carlo version of the Rapid. IN fact, the Citigo and Yeti also received Monte Carlo editions with red paint and black wheels, just like the Fabia received back in 2012. These colorful editions are great for people who want a sporty, youthful look without the thirstier engines of vRS models. And in typical Skoda style, the body kits cost a fraction of what they would with other brands.

If red isn't your thing, then how about the distinguished metallic brown Lauri and Klement models, all of which get sharp-looking alloys as well in a two-tone design. The rims on the Octavia are 18-inch in size and are called Sirius and are our favorite.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
