Lamborghini Aventador, the younger Huracan or perhaps an older Ferrari GTO, these type of cars regularly involve wealthy motorists. Ferrari 458, Aston Martin DB9 or maybe the cockier Maserati Quattroporte, you name it, you simply can’t expect a YouTuber or some turned-over-night to afford it. Oh, wait.
As a matter of fact, you can. Yes, nowadays, some of the richest people on the planet are under 40, and they don’t seem to have plans to get anything else but richer in the future. But we’re not looking towards the glad members of the 1% of the world with this post. We’re simply hinting at those who, for some reason, would randomly pay £1,800 ($2,804 at the current exchange rate) for a new pair of shoes.

Believe it or not, such things are possible, and Prada is the one making them. Well, to be honest, there are others too, but the Italian luxury fashion house is the one to own The Original Car Shoe company. Best known by the Car Shoe name, it’s a high fashion brand founded in 1963 by Gianni Mostile that manufacturers moccasins that feature tiny rubber nubs.

The brand earned a patent from the Italian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and its advocates included personalities such as Giovanni Agnelli, U.S. President John F. Kennedy, and Roberto Rossellini.

Ever since they initial business was bought by Prada, the traditional driving shoe has become available in a broad range of colors and leathers, and even in a new children’s collection. The latest offer comes as a complete personalization form. It seeks to deliver an unparalleled experience, with a line of moccasins made to order, thus becoming perhaps the first company to bespoke driving shoes.

Customized to fit the driver’s perfectly, according to Luxury Toys, the Car Shoe is available in four different types of leather (ostrich, cordovan, crocodile and centered crocodile) and in over thirty colors. Each Car Shoe is hand stitched by highly skilled artisans, in Europe’s finest tanneries.
