Wondering around in the world of eBay might some times offer great surprises to anyone who wants to take the challenge. And what better way to prove that than this fellow’s announcement who claims he has a 1943 Jeep Willys who once belonged to the 34th president of the United States. The Jepp is priced at $750,000.
Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower was probably one of the most important personalities in the 20th century, as he served as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe. He had responsibility for planning and supervising the invasion of North Africa in Operation Torch in 1942-43 and the successful invasion of France and Germany in 1944-45 from the Western Front, which basically put an end to the Nazi ruling over Europe.

This is why, if this car actually was ever owned by Eisenhower is one hell of a collectable. According to the man selling it, the Jeep was presented to the General after the end of WWII by the people of Scotland for him to use while he was visiting Culzean Castle of Scotland’s west coast. The 1943 Jeep Willys was also given to him as a gift to recognize the support he gave the Scots during the war.

Kept in a private collection for nearly 40 years, the Jeep’s owner claims it was restored sympathetically to its original condition and that he has full provenance of the car by way of letter from the general and his aid. The owner also claims he has a file full of paperwork and photos to substantiate the fact it belonged to Eisenhower. The vehicle is currently located in Shefford, UK and it’s priced at $750,000.
